Systems Quartz Plasma

  • Plasma Fusion Process - QSIL

During the fusion process, a high purity gas atmosphere is maintained in the mold while a plasma arc is sparked between the two electrodes. At temperatures greater than 2000°C, the energy of the plasma arc transforms the crystalline quartz sand into fused quartz. Following the fusion process, the cylinders are annealed to remove internal stress.
